BBA Position and Assignments

Since 1990, research scientist at the the BBA Institute for Biological Control in Darmstadt, working mainly on:
  • Diagnostic investigations by light and electron microscope:
    • in the frame of application and import of microbials in plant protection
    • of pest and beneficial arthropods (arthropod material of field populations, accessions, and bioassays) on diseases caused by viruses, protozoa, fungi, bacteria or rickettsiae
  • Investigations on special arthropod diseases:
    • isolation and description of pathogens
    • morphology
    • histo- and cytopathology
    • life cycle
    • taxonomy
    • bioassays
    • investigations on pathogenicity and host range
  • Studies on the effects of chronic diseases on populations of pest insects
  • Further development of cyto- and histopathological methods for identification and studies of pathogens
  • Research on biotic antagonists, especially pathogens in pest insect populations for prognosis and as a base for biological or integrated control measures
  • Diagnostic investigations on the sanitary conditions of pest and beneficial arthropod mass rearings
  • Management of the institute library
